New Voices, New Worlds: AudioGames by the Students of Scuola Holden
At PlayNook, we believe in the power of sound to tell stories, spark imagination, and create new ways to play. That’s why we’re incredibly excited to announce the outcome of a unique creative journey: a collaboration between PlayNook and the students of Scuola Holden, Italy’s most renowned school for storytelling.
🔊 From Open Call to AudioGame
Earlier this year, we launched an Open Call inviting Holden students to dive into the world of interactive audio storytelling. Together with our team, they explored what it means to build a story you can play — with your voice, your choices, and your imagination.
The result? Five original AudioGames, written, designed, and voiced by emerging talents — now live on the PlayNook platform. Some of these young creators have even joined our internal production team, helping us shape the next evolution of immersive gaming.
🎮 The Holden Shorts: A Five-Story Drop
Every Thursday starting April 18, we’ll release a brand-new story from the Holden Shorts collection:
April 18 – Labyrinth by Silvia Biasiol
April 25 – Pet Therapy by Laura Zurzolo
May 2 – The Bug by Matheo Heredia Gambetta
May 9 – The Hare Escape by Leonardo Curti
May 16 – Chakruna by Margherita Minelli
Each AudioGame offers a fully interactive experience with voice commands, immersive sound design, and choices that shape the narrative. Whether you're commuting, relaxing, or on-the-go — all you need is your voice.
🎓 Why This Matters
This collaboration with the students of Scuola Holden represents more than just a content drop. It’s a bridge between storytelling and technology, between education and innovation. It’s a statement: narrative games can be inclusive, accessible, and driven by the creative energy of new generations.
We’re proud to give these students a platform — and even prouder to welcome some of them into our team.
🚀 Play Now, Your Story Awaits
Download the free PlayNook app for iOS or Android, plug in your headphones, and dive into the Holden Shorts — a new series of interactive stories, born from talent and powered by sound.
✨ A Call for Storytellers
The project started with a simple idea: opening the door of our platform to new voices. Through an Open Call, Scuola Holden students joined us for a hands-on creative journey — from brainstorming to branching narrative and sonic experimentation.
The results? Five original AudioGames, fully produced and ready to be played on the PlayNook app. Stories born in a classroom, now live in your ears.
But the story doesn’t end there. Some of these emerging creators have now become part of the PlayNook team — bringing fresh ideas, fearless narratives, and serious storytelling power to our internal crew.
🎮 The Holden Shorts: A New Wave of AudioGames
This collaboration comes to life in the form of the Holden Shorts, a limited collection of student-created AudioGames. Here’s the release schedule:
April 18th – Labyrinth by Silvia Biasiol
April 25th – Pet Therapy by Laura Zurzolo
May 2nd – The Bug by Matheo Heredia Gambetta
May 9th – The Hare Escape by Leonardo Curti

Each short is fully interactive, immersive, and voice-controlled — meaning you can play anytime, anywhere, with nothing but your voice and your curiosity.
🧠 Storytelling as a Game. Gaming as a Story.
This isn’t just about content drops. It’s about building a creative ecosystem where education, technology, and entertainment come together.
At PlayNook, we believe that stories should be playable, that gaming should be inclusive, and that the next great storyteller might just be someone playing their first AudioGame today.
With Scuola Holden, we’ve planted seeds that will grow into the future of audio-based entertainment — where the power of storytelling meets the thrill of interactivity.
🚀 Dive In. Your Voice Is the Controller.
You can start playing the Scuola Holden Shorts directly on the PlayNook app, available now for iOS and Android.
New episodes launch every week — so grab your headphones, turn on your voice, and step into the story.
Want to know where the next great narrative starts? It might be in your pocket.
